Almost a month! April 18th.

Hi everyone. It has been almost a month since I last posted…too long. This past Monday was an Art Day” but it was not so productive. A couple of things I tried just didn’t work but they were learning experiences so it wasn’t a total waste of time. The week before that was when I made a trip to Dayton, Ohio and had a “trunk show” of my jewelry pieces at the Marianist Mission offices. It was a good and fun experience for me. I think I’ll try to make it an annual affair but next time schedule it for late October or early November.

This past weekend on Saturday the 16th. I made a trip over to Louisville, KY to go to a bead show. I had never been to one and I wanted to experience one. I figured it would be almost exclusively a vendors show and I was correct. Lots and lots of beads for sale. Glass, crystal, stone, precious and semi-precious gemstones, wooden, ceramic, silver, gold…and many other types of beads. It was a treat for the eyes to behold. I’d like to go to another bead show some time closer to home.

On the way home I stayed overnight at St. Meinrad’s Abbey in Indiana about a 3 and a half hour drive from St Louis.  Sunday was Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week and their celebration of the liturgy was wonderful. Very prayerful and inspiring.

This coming Monday will be another Art Day for me and I’m really looking forward to it. Hopefully I’ll have some more pieces to post next week.
